  1. We are a busy Arb Approved Tree Surgery and consultancy business working in the commercial and domestic sectors. Our regular clients include housing developers, pub & restaurant chains and schools in addition to our repeat and one-off domestic customers. We are currently looking to expand our teams to cope with our current workload and are seeking an experienced and qualified climbing arborist. If you are a Climber with appropriate NPTC Chainsaw certificates (ground and aerial) we would like to hear from you. We are looking for someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about working with trees, who takes pride in their work and relishes the challenge of a varied work load. Experience and qualifications are essential for this role, but equally as important is the right attitude, we are looking for a climber who wants to learn and progress to Team Leader and beyond. We are happy to invest in our staff to help them achieve goals, you will be provided with work uniform and all necessary PPE, work tools and ongoing training and development. It would be very beneficial if you also hold a CSCS card as a great deal of our work is on building sites, however, this can be arranged. We will also carry out a DBS check for our work at schools and care homes. Must also be able to drive, up to 3.5t and tow a trailer as a minimum (pending rule change accepted) We also have 7.5t & 18t lorries, tractor, excavators, etc so HGV or any operators licences would also be beneficial but not essential. We are looking for a full-time employee but may consider part-time for the right candidate(s) or work on a labour-only sub-contract basis if preferred. Salary negotiable depending on experience, we are a Real Living Wage Employer. Wolverhampton Tree Service Ltd - www.wolvestrees.co.uk Email: [email protected] or call 01902 892652 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £26,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
  2. Been searching around for the same, tried eworks manager for a while but didn't quite fit the bill. coming to the conclusion that there is no ideal solution!
  3. Hi Phil We are looking for someone at Wolverhampton Tree Service if you'd like to give us a call - 01902 892652 speak to either Keith or Dan.
  4. One of our lads has had a minor mishap and is on light duties for a couple of weeks - Any courses running next week (wc 26 March) - he is a climber with all his tickets, so maybe something else to add to the repertoire - LOLER inspection would be great if there happens to be one running.
  5. Looking for recommendations to get our climbing and rigging kits LOLER'd - preferably local to Wolverhampton and can visit our site. We used to do this in house but as staff have left so have the qualified LOLER guys. Looking at 6 climbing kits and 2 lowering.
  6. That would be great, its woodchip we're looking to get rid of. Can you give me a call when you get chance - 01902 892652 or send me your number.
  7. Have a team working for the next 2 weeks in Napton on the Hill (nr Southam) and could do with a tip site for Woodchip, if anyone know f anywhere, thanks.
  8. Sorted for Chip and possibly logs, unless there is somewhere closer to Tenterden that will have the wood?
  9. Brilliant - thanks for that, they'll take it.
  10. That would be rally useful, could you give me a call - 01902 892652, Thanks
  11. Have a team working in Tenterden for the next 2 days felling 3 Macrocarpa's and could do with a localish tip site for chip and/or wood. Thanks
  12. Think of it more as a "cutting through roots" blade than a grinding blade and they work well - 48 stumps though - you may be there a while, and your back will be sore!!!
  13. Microsoft Picture manager will do batch re-sizing. It's what I use, just change the view to Thumbnail view which will show all the pictures in the same folder, select the ones to resize then carry on as normal, just exit the program and hit yes to save all... Simples.
  14. Thanks guys - always good to get a second opinion. The tree is TPO'd and staying put, this has just been unearthed after the homeowner cleared a load of ivy and vegetation from the area and was understandably a little concerned. Given that the tree is around 70ft tall and located less than 20 from his house. Ooh, on second thoughts, better fell it then - for safety's sake!!!:001_rolleyes:
  15. Found this growing either side of a historic wound near the base of a Cedar, cant decide if it's the adaptive growth or a fungus, red and greasy nearest the deadwood, concentric growth rings becoming woody towards the outer edges. Any ideas?
  16. It seems that employing people and giving them a job, wage and perks like use of a company vehicle are just not enough for some people!! This guy goes by the name of Lance Chambers and was working for us as a plant fitter / mechanic - Although it now transpires that, amongst the web of lies he has told us and others, he may be posing as a Tree Surgeon. He has done a runner with our Green Ford Transit Connect Reg - LJ06 XKB (similar to the one in the picture) and quite possibly a number of saws, we seem to be missing 2x MS200t's, Husky 560xp, maybe also a blower and some other kit, who knows...! The van was sign written with Wolverhampton Tree Service logo's in yellow, but these have most probably been removed by now. The police report that the van has been spotted in the Sussex area on ANPR camera. So he may be posing as a tree surgeon around that area. If anyone spots him please report to the Police or let us know on 01902 892652
  17. We have a couple of jobs next week in Colwyn Bay and St Asaph. We need to get rid of some woodchip and will have a quantity of wood to go too. Lime to come down at St Asaph and a large Macrocarpa at Colwyn Bay. Can anyone help out with a tip site, or want some free wood?
  18. We have a team working in Hull and will have some maple, silver birch and Acacia, maybe some others. Free if you want to collect it from site. Also looking for somewhere to drop some woodchip off. Tel: 01902 892652
  19. We have a team working on a site in Hull this week and could do with a local site to tip off at, maybe 2 loads on a 7.5t lorry. Woodchip and timber, will be a mix of Maple, Silver Birch, Acacia amongst others, no conifer. Or if anyone wants to go to the site and pick up some wood? Tel: 01902 892652
  20. If it's spread from the neighbours property, then legal action is possible, if you have it on your property you are not required to do anything about it, but you must prevent it spreading to neighbouring properties, or incur legal action. JKW does not spread by seed in the UK, it spreads by roots and green material (stems, leaves). Standard spec for excavation would be to 3m depth (with inspection for deeper roots) so I would say that any membrane needs to be at least 3m deep too.
  21. No, th photo is a bit deceptive, the trees are located on a raised boundary wall next to a road, the wall you can see in the picture is actually the other side of a main road. There is no sign of any recent disruption to the root area.
  22. Cut the stems nice and young, be careful how you get rid of the leaves, then bung it in a nice Crumble, or a range of other recipes. BBC - Chef cooks up recipes for Japanese Knotweed
  23. Resurrecting an old thread - I visited a site in Sheffield last week and saw a similar thing on a couple of Sycamores, others in the same row seemed fine, but two showed excessive deadwood within the crowns but no other visual signs, no old fruiting bodies, no signs of Kretzsc. Any ideas? and what's the prognosis?
  24. Anyone that can pick it up in lumps rather than ringing it up?
  25. We have taken down a large Horse Chestnut in Lincoln, does anyone want a couple of decent size stems - All sizes approx. - 46" x 8ft, 32" x 18ft Would need large vehicle and preferably a Hi-Ab to pick them up, we could cut the long stem in half if needed. There are a few nails in it so probably not suitable for milling, but hey it's FREE...!!!
