Theres a trick that iv seen people In the army do to waterproof thier boots. Seems wierd and dont know how hot it would be in winter but....get some merry golds and cut the hand off. Put the arm part of the merry gold on ur leg before u put ur boot on and then once the boot is on u stick the rubber over. Might be excessive but hey

I don't get sawdust as such. I sometimes get chip though. But only when I'm wading through undergrowth in order to de-limb. I don't wear them in the woods but you could try gaiters.

What I get is loads of chip down my trousers tops, when ringing/sectioning oversized logs. There's only so much chip & sawdust, before it gets rather uncomfortable. I know the remedy would be to wear something that covers the waistband. But I'm the kind of person who (a) wears braces and (b) overheats when working, if the temp. is 8°C. So unless it's actually pelting down or snowing, I'll be in a T-shirt.

Not so much stuff going down front. It's when the chip is fountaining vertically during the reduction cut, then gravity does its thing and the chips fall down the backside. I see what you mean about bib 'n'braces though.
