So, worked with 2 different outfits in the last 3 weeks who both do there blades in house.

Now these are both well established companies, both been sharpening their own blades for 15 - 20 years using a bench grinder. And never had a single issue in doing so

Now i have always sent mine off, which a lot of others Ive worked with do.

Almost made me feel silly for all the expense I pay to have mine done. :blushing:

So who else does there own?

I do my own, generally every ten to fifteen hours of work on each set then I grind them back sharp. They only take about 1/2 hour per set depending on the damage!

Just make sure you don't cook them, take your time and make a jig up. Use an old knackered set to practice on then start saving on sharpening charges;)

Sharpen mine on a standard 8" bench grinder with a home made wooden jig using an aftermarket blue ceramic-grain wheel. It rips through even the most stone-knacked blades in minutes cutting cool and very fast.

It would take me longer to package them up and drive to the post box ! :thumbup1:
