Hi I am looking for a potential career change to be a Arborist I guess, need to know a bit more about it. I am 35 kept myself fit, like the idea of getting off computer and doing something outdoors. I am as my reply sounds a complete newbie, any advice, ideas, greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly new to the industry too, and also got into it a little later than most. It's an interesting and rewarding career, very physically demanding and it may take time to adapt to that aspect of it. Look around for a training workshop locally, there may be an introductory course that just lasts a few days. They are invaluable for learning about working at heights safety.

Evening all, back online and busy now it's windy.

Weekend warrior as opposed to full time but just love being outdoors and not in an office. Two weeks holiday now so happy to work these to pay Arb bills. Hope majority of you are all busy and finding work.

I am from the United States. I grow many kinds of fruit and nut trees, and have so much to learn. My favorite peach tree caught canker this spring so we cut it down. Then I saw that several more of the stone fruit trees in my yard have it. I don't want to cut them all down, not really sure what to do at this point.

Hey Murphy & welcome all. They're a friendly, knowledgable lot here. Did just the basic c/s & small trees at Kingswood recently & was great fun with good instructors. I'm guessing you're (ex) forces if doing the combo thing?

Hi all, I'm from farming background, just started selling a bit of firewood from fallen trees from 30 acres woodland mainly oak and ash and looking to start actively managing it so hope get some good info from here. Cheers Ambisawrous.
