I'm looking to buy a panel van and use a tipper trailer but I'm trying to find out which vans have the best towing capabilities. The sort of size vans I'm looking are Renault traffic/ Vauxhall vivaro/ Nissan primastar which are fairly cheap to run and can tow up to 2t.

Can anyone recommend any of these or know of other ones that would sit my needs or preferably tow 3-3.5t?

I saw a swb low roof twin wheeled iveco. Down rated from 5 tonne to 3500kg but still able to tow big chunks. Was tempted but just went for a disco 4 commercial in the end.

Toyota land cruiser amazon vx, with the windows blacked out and the rear seats removed. Tows like nothing else, large load space, comfortable etc.

But....

This and the disco don't really count as panel vans do they?

We run iveco 5 ton vans downrated to 3.5 ton. They will tow 3.5 ton, but due to the downrating will only carry about 900kg.

Loads of power though!
