I have to admit I've managed to train my body out of dropping saw onto strop so that'll be why mines ok so far I reckon.. I'm also now well into using the short attachment as designed though this is mildly annoying when using other saws cos its not there haha

Sounds promising, my 201 has been fine but had it a year and already started reving up and down,

someone I know is on there second one now, as the same thing happened to his, and even after been in the work shop it still carried on.

The old 020 was great I would def have that again but obviously you can't get them brand new now, so might look at the Husqvarna,

So we saying 540 over the 201???

So we saying 540 over the 201???

Opinion is divided on how bad the 201 is . Some are not as bad as others it would seem . Some people even like it . Ours however was total pants so for us T540 all day long .

I still keep patching up my 200t's for fear of buying a 201t. When the time comes my next topper will be a 540t. I know a lot of good climbers, most very mild mannered and easy going, and with one voice their opinion on 201's is not repeatable on a family arb forum.

Really happy with my 540 and had one since last September. It's rarely hanging on the strop, usually on the saw hook, so no signs of stretching AV springs.

Great power and starting. Feels like a mini 550 in the cut.

Did wreck it last week so immediately bought another.

I loved it and I'm still trying to however:

There is now a horrible vibration that makes my fingers tingle and its not the chain.

The power when cutting over 7" wood has disappeared.

The chain is either too loose or too tight, very rarely stays at the right tension.

I have had mine for a couple of weeks now, its a competent tool, more torque than the 200t its replaced and a better saw than the 201.

That sums it up for me .....
