i trained with phil too but we didnt bother with pictures. i have my own picturs now of my hand, so i know what they can do

saws can be dangerous and the way carvers use them is more dangerous than standard use. hence we do all we can to stay safe

I actually have a thought that I never want to be on a site and see or be involved with an accident and have to rely on my training from the lifeboat.

On the boat it's one thing as we don't know our casualty, but in a team of cutters where you spend everyday and get to know each other is a different story.

Good training, maintenance, time, gear and common sense all help, too many untrained people using poorly maintained equipment....accident waiting to happen

Just look at my fingers as well before I put the gloves on. Have the training and super duper gear. That is well maintained. Just have to remember and open my crisp packets the right way up or it's going to be a scary shift.

The thought of what can happen if things go wrong keep me honest in what I'm doing. I constantly have it in my mind about what I'm doing and how I can reduce the risks. To easy to get so involved in a carve, the form etc and not take note of the speeding chisels.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
