how does folks,

just wondering if you have to do some sort of ticket/course to work on highways clearance work. i know on the railway you have to have pts, but dont know about roads/highways

could some one give me a pointer please, cheers

As far as I know Sawmonkey, you dont need any specific tickets as such, but a chapter 8 ticket for signage would be kind of essential... unless you have a member of the team specifically to deal with signage and traffic control who has a chapter 8 qualification.

You also need somebody to liase with the local council to obtain permits, and you need permission if you need to close a carriageway for more than 10 minutes I think it is.. may be wrong but I think thats right.

isbn 978-0-11-551958-1 will give you the information with signs etc

 

but you need lighting signing and guarding 'operators' ticket to put out road signs on a highway.

and someone with the 'supervisors' ticket be it the same person ,to you guessed it supervise check etc......

It might be Singing lighting and guarding ?? cant remember and its late

 

 

Liase with highways and keep them informed and for relevant permission blah
