ISC rope grab here.

True, it won't release under tension, but if you can't release that tension for a second or two with a little pull from your left hand between the grab and the tree then you are probably in the wrong job.

Should be fairly self explanatory.:001_smile:I generally have it attached with the krab on my right side d, and anothe krab on the end for positioning, even spiking.

Unless your left had already has your silky in it and reaching for the target, you can't quite reach, quick tweak with your right hand will do it, or put silky away, pull in with left hand, release rope grab, get silky out again?

Rope grabs are worse than rope/pulley combos IMO and dangerous in a rescue situation unless you all carry knives at all times.

The cinch is way better than a positioner IMO. I've had a positioner but gave it away when I got the cinch. It works more like a knot and pulley set up, it releases under tension much better, you can do micro adjustments much better, its work on single line so you can girth hitch you lanyard on a stem and use the cinch along the whole lenght in single line set up (the positioner can't do that) and I think its cheaper! And its green!

i beg to differ rupe, i do just that all the time!

What, use it on a single line? Its a bit twitchy used like that.
