we have had practically non stop rain for the last 6 weeks in sunny Hull its making the whole long process a pain in the AR*S

 

any one else seeing any changes in sales i think its as much people don't want to come to our yard and get drenched.

Could it be that they can see your logs are wet therefore going to a supplier with dry logs.

 

That thought had crossed my mind but didn't want to say it :lol:.

always silly poeple on these forums on the left of the picture is our dryer we split outside then dry for a few days i was refering to the weather affecting passing trade not the moisture in a log

as you can't see the dryer its not a silly comment. If it was explained there was a dryer then fair enough. All you can see in the pic is rain wet logs. Much like i have at present on my yard

I think the weather is mild I have burnt 75% less oil than last year and probably half the logs. With so many people doing logs there is plenty of choice and the public want cheap. Until the cheap runs out its hard for you. I feel sorry for all you log guys its hard work and tight on margin at the best of times. Look positive and hang on in there we could still get some very cold weather. Summer seems to be june - October

been really busy here doing loads for our own customers plus helping out another local merchant who has run out of dry logs until he can get his kiln up and running
