I could be wrong here and will stand corrected but I don't think its actually a " cat " on a diesel engine as cats only work on petrol engines . I think its a ceramic filter . It was on my Navara anyway .

That what I was wondering . Are they ? I took what I thought was the cat out of my Nav and there was no metal in it at all . It was a matrix of what looked like grey clay . It just crumbled into dust . I looked it up and was informed it was a ceramic filter . I was wondering if these scrotes are nicking them thinking they are worth something when they might not be .

I think the scrotes know what they are looking at

 

Diesels do have cat's, the one fitted to a Discovery is worth about 50 quid, depending on which yard and the current price if the metals

On newer diesels it's a DPF= diesel particulate filter Same idea as a cat.

The bigger they are the more there work. A guy in work got 140 bucks for the two off his subaru. I'm sure the gold and other expensive metals in them

The rules have, or are, changing regarding the use of these filters for the MOT.

 

Seems if it left the factory with one, it needs to be there for the MOT.
