throw lines

The secret to avoiding tangles is to flake it into a tub, bucket, faltheimer cube. Every now and again throw it over a branch and let the line hang. As with all ropes, lines developer a memory, and will try to go back to how they were on the reel, so hanging it out will help resolve this. I see several people put the line around stick, all this does is put more twists back into the line.

NickfromWI recommended running your throw line around several branches throughout the crown of a tree and then pulling it through to get the twists out, I tried it and it worked.

Out of all the throw lines ive used i like the new england best, nice and supple and silky smooth.

I like to have a range of weights as well, usually a 10oz and 12oz stored in the faltiemer on either end of the line for different situations.

Prefere heavy wights for hand throwing and lighter for the big shot

I'm with Drew on that, once the coating wears off the dyna glide its useless, unless you use a really heavy bag.

I only use zingit 1.75mm, with a ten or eight oz bag depending on height, tree species, and wind conditions, works just fine for me.
