Something a couple of us on a forestry site, where we were dealing with big stacks of trees, were wondering. With the amount of trees going over, who on the domestic, utility, council type works hold cs34/35 or the new equivalents? Do councils and indoor contract managers actually know they exist?

Don't get me wrong (I can tell you haven't S.G.) I'm not saying you can't do it unless you've been on a course and untangling 20 odd trees with 3m high plates isn't going to happen in mrs miggin's garden.

I just have this niggle that the people who decide which hoops contractors have to jump through are either ignorant to the need for qualified operators to deal with windblow or they ignore it in a desire to get the job done.

Any one else see it this way?

Dealing with the odd windblown here and there is good, interesting work. Maybe even the odd double/triple. I imagine dealing with tangles of 20+ would be a nightmare.

Certainly round our way they know it exists as all lads are put through.

Got my son booked on it in march

Think it's a good course tbh

Not sure but i have my cs50 which covers dangerous trees, windblown and multiple root platrs :thumbup1:

That's an interesting one, I think I just looked at the assessment schedule for this, it looks like it's single tree windblow with the snap from the old multiple. Though it's odd that the old 34 pre req was 32 but 50 is 30/31.

Good call though.

On my course were guys from various district councils but that was in Cumbria. I'm guessing you're from the north Bob?
