Fair play to you guys got alot of respect for the older guys that still climb and enjoy it. Hope im still going strong into my 60's as climbing kit has evolved so much with srt, friction savers etc we really dont have the excuse not to.

You've got it too easy nowadays:001_smile:

Oh for the days of three knots and three strand. The Prussic loop and an eye in the end of your rope was a major innovation at the time.

Hey Scott....you knew that was coming

I bet you have heard it before on many subjects.

'When I was a lad' 'you don't know you're born'.... must admit I never thought I would ever be at this age to say the old folk sayings.

Oh how i miss three strand!!! but i still climb with a prussic, tried all these new fangled things like lock jacks and vt etc, although i'm looking forward to trying out the zig zag. looks like it could save my knackered fingers. Got to admit that most new techniques in climbing have passed me by, never really took a great deal of interest in them all and to be honest most happened without me even being aware of them. This srt thingy has grabbed my interest though.

Well put Scott.

Use it or lose it to a degree, but knowing when a younger, more nimble climber is more suited to a particular job is important to me these days.
