I remember seeing the Asplundh Tree (quarterly mag) once and a picture of Asplundh's yard. There was truck after truck after truck and the same with chippers. At the time they employed something like 45,000 people. The gear they had was ridiculous. Still remember when they flew a heap up to Canada on USAF Galaxies to help with an ice storm clean up.

Yup

 

Many years ago when I was young and impressionable I saw one of their depots on a week end.

 

At the time I was amazed that there were that many chippers in the world, and that was just one depot:laugh1:

 

Bucket trucks, "chuck and duck" and Mexicans, its what Asplundh are made of

10ft chip tip body, ladder storage, tool boxes, 60' cherry picker, crew cab ;)

 

Crew cab??

 

My brother drives an Iveco similar set up to that but smaller. The lift is located in the same place but folds up side ways if you know what I mean. I think it reaches approx. 45'. Then there is a chip box on the back, a very nice bit of kit. His boss has three of them used for line clearance.

I cant see why we dont have these over here.

they look like they tick so many boxes so to soeak and obviously they work in the tree game.

 

Why cant they be shipped over here:?
