All my hand saws have bits cut off them.

I cut the last few teeth, next to the handle, off. Saved my fingers a few times when it get slippery!

I also cut the daft nob bits off the end of them. I think they are only on the curved silkeys, zubat and sugoi. I thing they get in the way when trying to do neat finishing cuts in tight forks.

Good advice that.

I managed to slice my knuckle with the Silky Natanoko at the end of the day today.... nothing major, but deep enough to sting like a :cussing:

 

Was the final tooth nearest the handle that did it, just like you said.

Seriously considering doing what you've suggested....

id go for it mate, i wouldn't not do it now, the teeth that you cut off are never used anyway. and it only takes 30 seconds to do, take the handle off and get busy with the grinder :thumbup:
