Echo 8000

Hi all

I have been given a 1986 Echo 8000, handy

Having stripped it down, ive managed to deep clean it and fix the carb problem and have it running sweet :thumbup1:

It requires a new chain as the current one has been graunched by poor sharpening technique.

A few oregon possibilities have come up:

72LGX081G - which i think is similar if not the same as the one on it

22LPX081G - which I run on other saws

OR

Do I up the size of the bar and chain combo to something around 30 - 32 inch and if so what chain?

Some pics to brighten up the post below

Hi,

I had to read that twice "given" thats lucky, however, I see the plaques are all in French & thus needs to return home without delay, please post it to me tout suite!

Well done for getting it going & it looks in good nick, I dont quite translate the bottom row of the plaque "duelle de l'équipe" - dual team ? two man operation perhaps?

That says l'ouie and I think it's something to do with do not use without hearing protection. The two bottom lines are joined up as "porte obligatoire d'une protection individuelle de l'ouie"

  • 5 weeks later...

The saw has developed a fuel leak, I eventually found where it was and isolated it to behind the handle mounting :confused1: So after taking it all apart i've found its this little rubber grommet which seems to be a blank for the fuel tank :confused1:

Anyone know if this is more than just a blank? If it isn't where might be best to source a replacement for it?

Thanks :thumbup1:
