Tree Surgeon/Arborist???

My missus got me thinking the other day,

 

We were in a bar, and she introduced to some of friends from work...eventually the conversation led to what I do for a living...personally...I introduce myself as a tree surgeon.

 

My mate, plays abit of joke and says he's a surgeon, which people take a medical surgeon.

 

Wondered, whether people introduce themselves as tree surgeon, arborists etc...

I usually say tree surgeon , only because I think most people won't know what an arborist or even arboriculturalist is ( tree surgeon with a brain ! ? )

Depends on the audience.

I've used the surgeon one before with varying degrees of success.

Sometimes I'll say I'm a self-harmer, after a particularly tough day with hawthorn.

Depends who I am talking to, some people are not knowledgeable enough to under stand what a Arboriculturist / Arborist and/or Landscape Horticulturist is so I say Gardener and tree surgeon.

I do Tree surgeon for two reasons, one the obvious most people look blankly when aborist/Arboriculturist is mention, as I'm new to the industry, and still a trainee, don't qualified or experienced enough to consider myself an arborist.
