The petrol cap is fine but the oil 1 always gives problems u need to check it twice they should have a day coarse on how to close it for new stihl users

Theres nothing wrong with them when they are put on properly....and they don't 'fail' like someone else commented. Don't have a problem with mine...did in the early days when I wasn't putting them on correctly, but after a couple times most people seem to be able how to check they are on correctly. personally I prefer them to screw in tops that sometimes tighten themselves up beyond being reasonable loosened by hand.

I love the caps, just wish my 66 had them!!!

 

I think its a bit of an intelligence test, over the years I discovered that the staff who can operate them work out to be great, those that can't are pretty useless all round.

 

I showed my 17 year old son how you fit them correctly once and he's never had an issue.
