Been working on an 064, the owner fitted a 54mm cylinder and piston after the original went pop (52mm). My strategy is to always salvage the OEM cylinder where possible.

 

I got the saw in, it was over revving on idle but more importantly, it would pull a 20" but that was about it. I checked the compression and it was down to around 100psi so surprised it even worked at this. It is one reason why I don't tend to like cheap Chinese kit, it can be suspect!

 

I have now got the OEM cylinder sent by the customer, it cleaned up well, I have ported it and expect a vast improvement in compression and power, ported 064s tend to pull pretty hard:thumbup:

The 445 is a clam engine and stripping it down to port just adds a thumping lump of cost to the job so a muffler mod would be the simplest option.

Would you be able to give me any pointers on that one? Not done much engine with other than to get my ticket, but I'm a quick learner! :-P

We've got a very sluggish 064 that could do with being "spudded". I'm now also wondering if the cylinder is chinese. Hmmm...
