I used to use a plastic board, which I can't remember the name of but is very similar if not the same as the stuff commercial/plastic chopping boards are made. It comes in 8x4 sheets which then I ran through a table saw (lovely stuff to work with) to create my stickers. As you can imagine you get an awful lot from one sheet for c10m cutting time.

if its what i recall its called stok board Stokbord (Stock Board / Stok Bord) | Centriforce Products

may be of use. It used to be used in farming, pig sheds etc

Looks good, and would save the hassle of cutting round pipe in half. But would it hold it's strength over time?

that's what i'm worried about, nepia bought me a bit of that blue water pipe today when he dropped off his tulip tree and we both agreed that the weight of the wood would over time just collapse rather than hold it up.

will look in to that hard upvc foam cored stuff as if it's hard enough it'll be just the job.

by the way i don't mid cutting the pipe in half.

i've just seen some of that 20mm upvc foam cored stuff that H-A told me about and it looks like it might be useful

as it happens my neighbor is having a new front door fitted and he had some on his van. i could not squeeze my nail in to the core and although relatively flexible (in a 3m length) i think it might be just the job...

before i order any would anyone like to come in with me on this experiment???

i was going to get 10 lengths of 5 meters.

anyone interested.
