Cheap low quality mail order chainsaws.

Just had a chap phone up for advice about a Landmaster chainsaw he'd bought on the internet. He'd used it twice and now it won't start. I told him it was probably a low quality chinese machine and to contact who he'd bought it from. I thought I'd have a look on the web and found this Petrol 58cc 3.4hp Chainsaw, Two Quality Chains, 20? Bar & Carry Case, 2014 Model | eBay

It doesn't inspire confidence when the saw in the pictures has got the chain on BACKWARDS!!

I had a guy bring one to me last month that wasn't running right?

I am not one to knock cheaper saws for domestic use if they do a job, there ok for some.

But this was a crap Chinese saw that he paid £70- it was awful.

It started up when cold and as it warmed up the piston expanded and killed the engine as it seized.

Not fit for one minutes cutting.

It runs the other way so it throws the chips away from you and doesn't fill your sandals with itchy bits

It is a new config for home owners, but you have to be carefull, they kick back into your knees, but you can use the saw upside down if your worried about that...:001_rolleyes::biggrin:

It's got a 12 month return to base guarantee!

And you get a tool kit to keep it running smoothly (a few more tools needed maybe - like a smelter and some stihl moulds).

And you get a bag with it

Come on guys what can you expect - a saw that cuts wood for at least 5 seconds.

Won't catch me wasting money on Stihl and Husky stuff again.
