Paleo diet for arborists

Soooo, iv found the working week generally easy as there is little temptation at the top of trees. Weekends are something totally different though, temptation everywhere. Havnt caved yet but the cakes in the cafe have never looked so good. There is also very little choice at malls and General shopping precincts which doesn't help, I am feeling better and am loving the non bloated feeling after eating. Wife's looking good also ;)

That's fair enough mate. I train Muay Thai 2-3 times a week and climb 5 or 6 days a week. Carbs make me feel bloated and sluggish. I feel a lot better with less of them in my life.

Saying that I am not strictly paleo but try to avoid bread, spuds and have pasta maybe once a week.

Second that I'm not strictly Paleo but I'm doing a variation of it I guess (still eating dairy) whatever works for you is great, but this is so far working for me and it's not that difficult to be honest. Just need to be prepared and don't get caught out not having anything to eat.

Went to an engagement party on Saturday night and I did feel very anti social, wouldn't eat, and would only drink 2 light beers and wife was on tap water. We're hoping to get to a stage that we can be as good as possible until there is a time we can kick back (like a meal, party or gathering) but I'm a week I to the 3 week trial and don't want to sabotage the results.

Good man. I've slipped a bit recently. When I started just over a year ago, I went really strict for the first few months to almost trick myself into knowing I could do it. I've been less strict with myself recently but need to get back onto it as summer and first baby are going to be on the horizon!

  • 2 weeks later...

Had my 3 week weigh in this week. Weight loss wasn't my goal but if it were to happen it would be a bonus, I was more interested in other benefits like more energy and so on. Anyway after weighing I'd lost 5kgs in 3 weeks without even trying, never going hungry and feel the best I have in years, can't beleive it. I know weigh less than I did 5 years ago. I messed my body up by bulking up for rugby and struggled like hell to put it on. Once I got to where I wanted I moved to Aus and never needed the excess weight any more and have tried (not very hard) for 4 years to get rid of it. Would highly recommend this way of life to people if your interested, you don't know until you try.

How's every one else going? You back on it?

Jake
