Has that not been covered in cs30??:confused1:

 

This is the point I was trying to make. We've taken on various staff over the years and they all have the same problem that they haven't been taught the basics of sharpening. Is this the fault of the tutors or the NPTC standards? Yes we all had to start somewhere and we all learn over time but shouldn't the standards being taught be of concern?

Tutors fault, the nptc say to manufacturers specification, I think that is pretty simple

Totally agree with this

 

Going to be taught in the near future and hope that i am taught to a standard that i can do sharpening , maintence etc to a acceptable standard as thats what i want to achieve and be able to do ,otherwise im paying near on a grand for a piece of paper

Id say its the assessors. When I did my 30 my mate was let off for not wearing gloves. He should have failed. There are too many dodgy assessors about!
