Came back from Sharm in Feb, good for diving or snorkeling, locals arent to pushy, most of the night life is at a area called the strip, its mental ! some good restaraunts, simple rule for eating out if you cant see where its being cooked, dont eat there. where are you staying, and what do you want out of your holiday?

Went there over over the Xmas period. You can get a ferry from Sharm to Hurdaga if its running and then a bus to Luxor. From there get the Train to Cairo,$30US overnight including dinner.Great service but getting a ticket can be a hassle.

I think you might tire of Sharm in a few days, its so much different than mainland Egypt. You will need to get a Visa at the airport if you wish to travel off the Sinai peninsula.Costs $15US,get it at the visa desk at the airport.

Really enjoyed Egypt on the whole, went to Luxor,Cairo,Alexandria,Port Saied,Ismalea,Sharm etc.

The food outside of Sharm was exceptional and the people alot more freindly than on the Sinai Penisula.Get to Luxor if your able.

Went to egypt with the mrs may 07. Great holiday, the combination of pure dry heat and snorkelling is difficult to get bored off.

Few pieces of advice firstly be prepared for your mrs to get alot of attention try not to take it too personal, second if you can when getting a taxi go for the more privately owned looking ones. If you do decide to go for the blue and white ones make sure you clarify what currency you are paying them with before you agree price. If you get a dodgy one he will try and change the currency form egyption to english pounds halfway through the journey. No real trouble though.

You should definitly enjoy and its nice seeing so many happy layed back people. Something which this country can lack.
