You need an adaptor head and I don't know if it takes a silky, the Jameson one is fine.

The pruner head could do with a wider mouth, made sense to me to buy an extra pole and saw etc as I already had the big shot!

As said near the begining of the thread the sandvik head is very good and with a few mods can be adapted to fit a Jameson pole.... I've just got the silky pruning head as it looked so smart as well!

Bump. Broke my Hayuachi pole today. Looking at the Jameson poles, just so I can double up use with a big shot. But is there an adapter that will take the Hayauchi blade?

Don't suppose there is a chance that the Sandvik lopping head is compatible with the Jameson poles, or is that simply being ridiculously optimistic?

I don't need any electrical protection 'cos I don't go near the stuff now. Apart from the kettle, obviously.

 

Mark, the AUS really are better than the Jameson's. I've used both plus the chance hot sticks and the AUS have less bend and are more robust. I haven't read all the posts yet but two poles on Jameson's is ok, more than that and it's difficult to cut thick stuff or even get them up. The AUS poles you can keep adding too. 13 was the most we ever had on along with the same on a second set to hold the cut branch.

And has anyone modified the hayauchi saw for it?

AUS poles are by far and away the best on the market, nothing else even comes close. And you can leave them hanging on a 11kv to keep them dry and clean.

Sherrill in the U.S. has a pole hook for Jameson poles that will take a Silky blade.
