Our new boss has recently told us that we all have to dress the same on site,we have a basic uniform, jumper and polo, but he'd like us to start wearing the same helmets, trousers and hoodies/fleece.just wondering if anyone else thinks it matters,or as long as the works being done who cares?.

I'm in the " as long as the work gets done " camp . As long as you don't totally look like the rag mans donkey .....

Agreed, also if he's the boss he should be providing you all with matching trousers and helmets, so what's the issue?

Agreed .. And that's speaking as a boss ! Company image helps set a good team

No issue, was just wondering what other people's opinions are.We always picked our own ppe in the past.we all wear the same on the top half, its things like waterproofs that we've always supplied our own, mainly because we would spend a little extra n get something a bit better.

Take no notice of me . I am an old git and old school to boot . I hate having to conform or being told what to do when it does not matter . I understand the image thing and my view is incorrect for today I admit . I do think if you " cock up " which happens occasionally you look doubly daft in your uniform ! I am wrong though , before any one shoots me down ....
