How much would it cost to build a new ms200t from parts?

I had a mess about one day pricing it up awhile ago and it was around £1000 + VAT for the parts.

I always thought it would be a good little project, get some of the parts painted custom colours, maybe see a mate with a CNC machine to fabricate a few blingy bits etc.

I'll never, ever get round to doing it though.:laugh1:

If you were to buy 100 of each part, to build 100 saws, would the price go down?

I like the idea of chainsaw bling, special laser cut bumper spikes, jap bars are the only readily available things that springs to mind.

It is a little odd that it has not happened in the chainsaw world, custom exhausts would be an easy one, carbon fibre covers, chrome bars, aluminium cnc bits to replace the plastic., high compression ported cylinder piston kits.

If you look what is available for scooters, race cranks, pistons, cylinders. A vast range of go faster bits.

Perhaps it is only just starting in the saw world.

Or you could start with an old saw, replace:

Crank

Cylinder and piston

Bearing and seals

Oil pump

Carb.

So you have an as new refurbished saw.

NOT!

You're forgetting about a new

Bar

Chain

Sprocket

Air filter

Handle bar with all its plastic components that work together with the wire components

AV rubbers

Oil cap

Gas cap

Oil pick up

Gas pick up hose and filter

And if you are unlucky enough to buy an old one that came of a dude like me you would probably need a complete new housing because the oil tank is leaking at it's seam in the bottom of the saw.

Just go for a new 201. With new I mean the new factory modified 201.

I will see if I can find the serial number from which you can shop.

Or just go for the Husqvarna 540.
