Hi Guys!

I'm just about to buy myself a little chipper for my weekend work and with the hope of setting up a little business next year.

I've just had a chat with a guy called Robert from Arborcut who has a fully reconditioned Timberwolf TW 125 with a diesel engine for sale.

Has anyone had any experience with these machines or this company?

Any advice would be massively appreciated

Cheers

Will

Take a look at other chippers like Greenmech, TP, Jensen, Bandit depends on how much you want to spend.

Greenmech and TP are roughly £16K

Bandits and Jensen are more expense.

I am looking at a Greenmech 150 Arborist it has sold me on greenmech as before I never really thought that they were good but the 150 is better than timberwolf by far.

No they dont make one now which says something but they did for a while with the ruggerini diesel that shakes like a jack hammer.

If it's just for weekend work I would look at renting one with an op the only way your going to get a good second hand chipper is if you have go 6-7k knocking around. Sorry to sound abit blunt but that's what I'd do. Hope you take what I'm saying on bored.

Hi I work for a GreenMech dealer based in Hampshire

We have in stock GreenMech

CS100 18hp -gravity feed

Arborist 130 petrol - hyd feed

Arborist 150 34hp Kubota diesel

Quad chip 160

We have both demo and new available.

Pricing will be 4,000 up to 14,500

If it's just for weekend work and you'd log up anything above 4' then I'd really recommend having a demo of the CS100.

We could bring one down and meet at a site to put it through its paces...

I'll just air my views of the the current green mechs personally the gravity fed green mech I'd rather brash up than use that chipper it's terrible, the 130 green mech isn't to bad but if you are thinking of going full time this chipper isn't for you, it's slow and I mean really slow, the diesel 150 green mech isn't to bad but a jenson 530 or a timber wolf 150 are better even if they're second hand. The quad chip is essentially a 150 green mech on a turntable but it's harder to access engine and blades with the compact design.

Get the best you can afford specially if you think you're going full time next year, if you buy right you won't need to purchase a chipper for a good few years

Although I will say the greenmech arborist 19x28 (7.5 inch) is a good machine it'll eat hawthorn like no tomorrow.

One more point I find greenmechs are very messy machines compaired to other makes

I'd rather sweep up a few chips than change flywheel bearings any day (or most days)

Tin hat on!

If I had millions of pounds and a 30 ton truck I might go for a big bandit.
