Try and find a good 2nd hand ms200t it's still the best climbing saw out there

Disagree ( respectfully ) Had several 200t and all very good until the old carb troubles start . 201t is total pants . T540 is way better than 201t and slightly better than 200t .

id repectfully disagree. 200 has more power than the 540. carb troubles are a bit fiddly but cheap to fix.

:thumbup1:new carb kit all the way. 200t is a great saw, havent used a husky top handle for 15 years or so. sure they are better now though. my 201t is crap. only had it 1 yr and can not tune it, 2 new handles and gutless. fixing all my old 20s!! back to question find an old 200t or try a new husky. you get what you pay for in the end... good luck.

I've never had carb issues with a 200t, air filter issues which is a sthil thing they always seem to clog up so easily

Shindaiwa top handle is well worth a look, i have a buddy who has a number of them, get full use all day, take a trashing and never miss a beat! They do.just suddenly crap out after a couple of years, but the same can happen with sthils, the shindaiwa topper has similar grunt to a 200, and is a third the price of a 201! Worth checking out if you don't want to fork out for something you won't be using to much
