iv been given a old lister diesel engine,in excellent running order.

the engine i have is the same as in the picture

just wondered if anyone has made a saw bench with one?

as this is going to be the next project..

the air cooled engine is 300cc and runs at 1000rpm

was it easy to do? what size cutting disk is best suited for the engine?

thanks in advance

In a field near andy collins two old men used to do firewood with a saw bench run with a flat belt from a tractor with a flywheel on it. At my yard i have a sandstone the old woodmen used to sharpen tools with and it was turned by hand i was wondering could i run this off a small stationary engine my brother has a whole shed full:001_smile:

is that a lister 'd'engine- i think they are only 1hp!! You wil need much more to run a sawbench. Tart it up and sell it to one of those old guys at country fairs who wear flat caps.....

yes lister d engine.. runs slow.. max rpm id say is prob 750rpm?

just wondered if anyone had made a saw bench with one?

be interesting to see picts..

if its not possible, its getting covered up and going back behind the shed...:blushing:
