why valtra?

Ok, so looking at roof mount crane/tractor combo's, most seem to be valtra's.

why?

Speaking to my mate who drives tractors on farms for a living does not rate them at all, wondering why are they so common in forestry/arb?

I'm not clued up on tractors just a question out of curiosity.

They are a Forestery tractor, revolving seat, room for your legs and nothing dangles down to get caught by brash or stumps, I've had 2, brilliant tractors.

Both had cranes, that's why I bought them.

I have a farmer mate who has plant as well, he loved using my tractor and rated them very highly!

Would I want to use them daily on a farm? Only if I didn't have to hitch and un hitch trailers a lot as its hard to see hook due to seat location.

Your mate wont rate them because he is a farmer not a forester

Also because they don't fully rely on the engine block block to keep front and back halfs together so are much stronger to take the stress exerted by the cane, or so I've been told and as said take the least moding to make suitable for forestry work.

Also I was told there is no power loss from engine to pto, oh and they are really good tractors. Very smooth to drive.

valtra came from a forest heritage and went in to agri, the rest it is the other way,

and there is no such thing as a standard tractor with valtra as they are all made to order.

 

 

2 foot throttles ( one facing back for use with a crane )

reverse drive

metal fuel tanks

forest cab for using cranes

diferent pick up hitches

forest tyres and rims

along with different tranmition

I'm also told its the only make of tractor which you can choose the colour.

Its got a much better ground clearance compared to most tractors to get over them stumps
