Run both a 2013 MS201t and a T540 there is not a huge amount in it, I,d be happy with either one.

 

Having run both, if I bought tomorrow the 540 would win out, but it for me is not leagues ahead of a 201 that runs correctly.

Since fitting my 540 with a full chisel chain I'm really starting to like it, it seems very firsty, appears to use a lot of fuel when left on tick over.

 

Or maybe the tank is just too small.

How long do you leave it on tick over?

 

I was told not to do this because the Auto Tune starts to, well auto tune. Then I won't pick up fast when you squeeze the trigger again.

I've left it on tick over for long periods, with no issue other than fuel usage.

Mind me asking what chain you bought and where from.. I've been looking at mine, asked my dealer for a full chisel and got told there's only one chain and you got it I'm not convinced..

Bought from Dick Leigh, its just a standard 201t chain, (you will need a longer chain for a 540t for the same bar length than on the 201t)
