the dmax is made of soft cheese and the rodeo is super hard cheddar:laugh1:

so you do not think the dmax will stand the test of time,

and the rodeo is built to last

New d max tows 3.5 tonne old rodeo does not. Drive both and see what you think normally the new model is a step forward. The old model will drop its price quickly. I looked at both a week ago the d max did not look weak the dealers were changing all their staff cars for the new one.

Ours is 62 plate

Tows well. Had it on its limit a few times now towing weight wise. Maybe a little over. Plenty power to tow the weight and will still get 30mpg once up to speed and cruising.

do any dealers offer a couple of days trail / test drive?

all well and good on the road,

but i would want to try them on a grass field with slopes, nothing to offroad.

and with trailer

I test drove the new dmax on friday. I wasn't that impressed and won't be buying one. The points which i noted were:

-I thought the drive was very bumpy on the road.

-Changing gear from 1st to 2nd, me and the wife both found we were hitting the reverse gear gate!

-very low power when pulling off.

-brakes were shockingly bad!

-and the 5 yr warranty which they're broadcasting everywhere isn't a full 5 yr warranty. After 3 yrs it goes down to a basic major component warranty.
