Spiderjack

I've read so many mixed reviews about the spiderjack. It looks like an impressive bit of kit, however, it seems to be a little marmite as in people either love it or hate it. It's quite a lot of money to lay out if I choose to buy one and then decide that it's not for me. Is there anywhere that has any demo models so that I can try before I buy? Preferaby somewhere in the Bristol or South-West area.

If you're unsure then my advice would be to buy a Lockjack because it is mid line attachable and you'll get used to using it faster than a SJ.

Got to disagree with that, I tried a LJ and hated it, the SJ is far more like a hitch than the LJ, IMO.

I was really looking to buy a sj, got put off buy a shop who said what are you used to climbing on (hitchclimber) so didn't get one in the end, would like opinions on how good/easy to use they are???

Use to love mine until it fell onto a rockery from 80ft. I use a hitch now but wouldn't say no to another sj! Have to agree with the others the lj is a lot harder to get use to in my opinion! But everyone's different

I think a lot depends on your natural climbing style as to whether you get on with one or not.

You can try mine if you want. My company is based near Taunton so not far from Bristol. I love mine but I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new ZigZag as the first version was a dream to use!
