I just bought this a few days ago. With extended blade and boom, its got a serious bit of reach!

Got about 5 acres of steep ground to clear of scrub, so deciding between rake with fixed thumb, rake with hydraulic thumb, but also really like the demolition grab!

Always wanted a digger and could pass on the price of this one :001_smile:

not as shiny as you guys ones though!

New tracks fitted by the previous owner 50 hours ago. We will have to wait till summer to get up there even with new tracks though.

Did you mention a ballpark price for your selector grab?

Thanks

You won't go wrong with any of those options for clearing scrub, the bit more you pay the bit more you get but they all do essentially the same thing.

I used to use a fixed 5 tine grab for scrub clearing but I think I'm going to try a rake and hydraulic thumb for my new machine. Perhaps a bit more versatile...

Jim price is dependant on what hydraulics you have on the machine.

The grab itself is around £4800 pv, then the diverter valve kit valve on the hitch is another £900 p vat if you don't have enough hydraulics for the second service.

It's a fair investment , but the work that can be done with it is brilliant. Yes a thumb is 10% the cost and if you don't need a grab and rotator go with that option.

The second I put the grab on the machine and picked up and moved some branches and small logs I'd forgotten the price!

It's amazing how quickly the price of any machine goes out your head when your moving twice the amount in a fraction of the time with absolutely no effort what so ever.
