out with the tree shear on my jcb today. the tilt rotater really transforms the shear as you can double or triple cut if needed. I went through today and took the tops out and il go back for a couple of hours with one of my guys to cut the thicker timber with a saw and stack on the chip piles

A little outing to the Staffordshire County show yesterday, where the ARB Tree Care Menzi was getting fair attention from pretty much everyone passing.

I’m more realistic than most of what a Menzi’s abilities are in a UK setting, but quite simply if you need one, there’s nothing else that will do the job.

Interestingly they also have a custom Post Knocker setup for it, which should open up some odd applications.

The other stand out was this TB370 Takeuchi with Two Piece Boom and Kinshofer Nox Tiltrotator in full spec with Control System and Gripper.

Really does demonstrate just how far the job has come on now, when our local Takeuchi Dealer is now able to put such a setup together in house and out the door.

Lovely setup for someone, stability will be the main question asked given the spec.

Bloody good Machines now the JCB Midi range, use them and work alongside them loads.

Nice places to spend a shift and some great features.

Still won’t cut for shit with a Shear unless sorted.

It has been great getting a bit of work with my Hyundai 6t this year, I just have to pull my finger out and upload some footage to YouTube as I can’t see an easy way of posting videos here

Been a while since I had a fire that size! Since I bought the 2.7t I don't hire in 7.5t machines with grapples anymore, the 2.7t with rotator is just as quick for most of my jobs. Less mess, smaller fire and tidy up as you go!

This was yesterdays effort with the machine and two men. Sloping ground, dead ash and boggy patches, I get all the best sites!

Doobin, our bushfire season started in September so had to get a burn off permit from the local fire brigade, part of the conditions is to burn in a pit and not burn on days of 30 degrees or above. The pits go well, dug out to around 8 foot and ramped up at the sides. Shame to see all the big logs going in there, would be interested to see if we get much char left at the end. We are onto our 4th pit on that job.

How’s the rake working?

Coming to the end of it's life, need to get round to building myself another one rather than just for other people! That was the original prototype from probably 7 years ago, it's done well but I want to make another up with a proper grab pocket. I would just weld onto that but it's slightly bent so may as well start afresh with PFC rather than UC, as that's a bit heavier.
