The t540xp Thread.

Received mine from Skyland with a 12"bar. Am using husky xp 2 stroke oil and normal Oregon chain oil.

First impressions are good on the ergonomics and design details.

I dismantled a Conifer yesterday and it ran slightly rough while trimming off the branches then ran smooth and fast when chogging down the stem.

I was very impressed with the torque.

I thought this might be a good thread for sharing info and tips for people new to new Husky saws with Auto Tune and help on bar/chain options.

I'll take the spark arrestor mesh out and I don't like the chain.

Thanks for reading so far.

We had one on trial. Got it started once and then that was it. Wasn't keen on the on/off switch set up and a couple of other things like different size spanner required for side casing and spark plug. Worst of all was the service from the husky rep though. They're trying to make in roads on the Stihl dominated market in NZ but I really wasn't impressed. I'd like to give it another crack to see if it is all it's cracked up to be.

Were are gonna stack all these T540 threads then ? Would not want to fall of the pile !

I thought of that but then thought that the other threads are specific questions.

This could be a general info sharing thread for positive stuff and not a slagging match about different shades of orange.

Not a bad idea.. the threads for 550 and 560 have proved good in helping people with many things relating to the new husky range.

I have one of these coming in the next month and I'll watch this thread eagerly for set up tips and running in advise.. can't wait :D:D

I took out the spark arrestor mesh but can't tell if it made a difference. I like that I won't have to maintain it though.

I have found that the plastic tool loop for easy attachment to the harness is extremely useful but when the saw is hot it burns my bum cheek!

Has anyone found the chain tensioner a bit tricky? When turning the screw it feels a bit like a ratchet and can't quite get enough tension on the chain.
