If it has such a small reservoir is there not a risk of it overheating the oil? I know very little about hydraulics and realise that these pumps have always operated with the reservoir in question, so I may have answered my own question (doh!).

The reservoir tank is quite small, but it has a large oil cooler built into the system as standard

 

I may have to add another tank however as the ram is so big, it uses a lot of oil out of the tank at full stroke.

as long as the pumps not sucking air i would dodge along with its own tank or can you piggy back a tank at the same level with a big feed hose

No it s not sucking air and I only really use the splitter on a short limited stroke so it should be ok

Well done mate, looks a great modification. You must be well pleased with that. Would be interested in seeing a video of it splitting a few rings when you get it fully up and running.

Made hinged bracket to mount the splitter, will probably make it hydraulic tilt, but here it is in the travel or stowed position

Looks good, is it compulsory to wear a pink Pringles tank top when splitting and if a bit skites off do you have to shout FOUR!!

You can wear suspenders too if you like, as long as it doesn't affect your splitting rate
