If you can't get the oil cap undone on a 346 then try doing it up less tightly. I've found that it only needs to be barely finger tight, much less than you'd think. It doesn't work loose, and you'll still be able to open it without tools.

Mark, I'll be happy to buy from you, I wasn't asking for part numbers to shop elsewhere. I'd be much happier buying off the net these days anyhow, purely due to ease and less hassle travelling to collect from a local dealer. I simply don't have the time these days.

I'd happily ask you to put some asside for my saws if you can, but only as a pair for each saw. Am I right thinking both my current huskies will want both larger caps then?

372 & 560 that is.

I agree.

Try having the cap so loose that it leaks - then, as it leaks, slowly turn the cap.

The O-ring only has to touch the rim of the tank.

 tried that but tbh whats the point when you can have the flip caps that can be tightened then undone easily. :001_smile:

A fair point now that the new caps are out.

My suggestion was really more of an experiment than obvious advice.

I would retaliate, but on lifting my walking stick I would fall over!

I was almost prompted to shout out loud,

but my false teeth fell out.

Would they fit the 135 ?

Alternatively what's the point of spending out on new caps when all you need to do is not over tighten the existing ones? :D

The cap on my 346xp tightens in use, so I require a combi tool to free it off, I suspect these caps will give me a bit more purchase (no pun intended).:001_smile:

Do the cap up so it's just befor the oil marker, it can then be opened toolessly,

My top tip of the day

Or.... Replace the cap with a flippy one only when your old bog standard screwy one gets lost, breaks or the combi spanner slips when trying to open one time too many!
