And I bet now you have beefed up your security as I did, which is why this forum is invaluable to members if they take notice of these type of posts.

Had some stuff go from my yard a few years back, so now have dogs and better locks. But this time it was on site while working in a large garden, it got to the stage now where if I'm not actually using a tool it getting locked down.

Read a freedom of information report about four years ago. Of the local government and police installed cctv in England & Wales, only 16% on average were even monitored. Of that 16%, only 3% of recorded data was deemed to be of suffienct quality to aid in detection leading to prosecution; and only 1.6% of the 3% could be deemed, as having been crucial in a conviction.

The conlusion & forecast was that while cctv was likely to become more widespread, the aforementioned figures would not improve. Moreover, overall monitoring was likely to decrease and recording of data to help with either prevention of crimes or final prosecution, was also likely to fall below 3%.

It was also noted, that some courts, (usually local and some county courts) presided over by people who didn't fully understand cctv. Were less willing to accept cctv data, as being of evidential fact or of being any real help in understanding the crime being committed.

Had some numpty's trying to take the cage of the trailer for the second time. It's bolted and locked with a boron chain and panic alarm. Didn't hear it going off as had the ear defenders on and it was only when a neighbour came in to customers garden to ask if I could turn off the annoying shrill coming from the trailer.

Asked if she'd seen owt and she said oh yeah the scrappies pulled up had a look around the trailer and then tried to lift off the side panels.

Lucky I always clamp wheels and lock tail gate to sides to make it really heavy to lift.

Saw scrappies empty a skip in seconds on roadside they took bikes, rads and metal left everything all over grass. Took a walk towards them and they legged it, I was on my own and the four of them jumped in the flat bed and legged it. No number plate on back of van.
