Cold callers

Getting a call from peteb or a machinery dealer is totally different from the usual phone rings 5 seconds of silence while it connects to an operator. Ie computer generated calls. Pete if you ring me I will be very nice  Has any one seen the coffee advert when she asks him to ring back again tommorrow

They are only doing a job and everyone has a right to work. As a salesman, I cold call people, both on the phone and in person when I can. It can be good fun, productive and interesting.

But I can appreciate it can be a nuisance, an warranted intrusion that is annoying. But that is part of our job.

Personally, I wish them a good day and politely so no thanks.

Having made hundreds of cold calls both in person or over the phone, I have also found the encounters in person or over the phone both productive and interesting. Occasionally funny. For my own business and home phone number caller ID rules the day. If someone really wants to get in touch with me that is not a problem. If you persist with your pitch to try and sell me something I remind the caller about the 3 strikes or pitch rule and your out:sneaky2:

Haha I did that after 12 months of continuous calls from various "charities" I'm now on Tps and it has been alot better but if I do get them I just leave it connected and wealk off and leave them talking to themselves til hang up :thumbup1:

Im a member of a trusted trader scheme and as so we are prohibited from cold calling.

If you've managed to grow your business to the stage where you are AA, should you really need to cold call?

I hate it, window fitters/ loft insulation knocking the door, PPI / unclaimed accident etc. tarmac laying tree cutters.

Funny thing just happened. I had a representative from the Jehovah's Witnesses pay me a visit to confirm if I was still on the do not call or visit list?. Seems they were updating their records so I gave him the AOK sign and sent him on his way. Seeing as this group of folks

are expert at Cold Calls I was slightly amused by the visit and timing. You just never know.
