If you turn the saw upside down and look up through the hole, using a torch, you can use something thin (like a knitting needle) to push one end of the object, thus allowing it to fall through the hole.

I don't own a knitting needle  but have tried a pair of thin tweezers and other pokey objects but it's just not coming out :cursing:.

Will have another bash at it tomorrow. Probably literally. Thanks for your help.

Claire.

give it to a tech.

if the other is a technophobe i sure the tech will give him some sound advice and teach him a few things. a drink on offer is always welcome.

We do know a guy and the last time we took him a issue like this ( OH had knackered it by cross threading the plug) we ended up having to get it helicoiled. Should probably just take it to him and get OH to leave it well alone. Can see why I am the DIYer in the household now.

Best to give it to a kid and say I bet you can't get that little bit of plastic out of there, if you can I will give you a tenner. (remove chain and bumper spike).

Guarantee my kids would be lining up for the challange.:001_smile:

Haha, that's a good idea. Now just to find a child.....

Where are you located, possibly one of us techs can sort it.

The part should fall out or tweezers should work, Mattys idea may work but if not, take the exhaust off and if this fails, take the pot off!

We are in Stone in Staffs.

I know it's been mentioned a couple of times - is the exhaust easy to remove and refit?

The heated up piece of wire sounds like a good idea....

Will give that a go as it's still in there, rattling around. Thanks again guys.
