Which pick up can tow 3.5t?

Looking to get one.

Must be able to tow 3.5t.

Single or super can.

I'll have a Pro-Tipper fitted into the back.

 

Don't want American stuff or Landrover.

Second that. Isuzu best option otherwise. Major downside of import LC70 is single cab = no seat recline which tall peeps need. Extra/Super/King/Club cab everytime...

I was considering a lc70 for a moment, but think ill stick to the dmax.

Surely it would be a nightmare on parts costing you money on down time in the end.

There are a few 4x4s that can tow 3,5ton but the only ones that do it really well ( but you dont want one )are the yanks. They come with a decent sized engine, huge brakes and a very stable chassis. We have got most of the 4x4`s mentioned in these whats best threads and none are happy towing a 3.5 ton trailer. Unless they are loaded perfectly which imho is rarely ,as soon as you hit the brakes the front of the truck will go light and the wheels lock up or the thing will be snaking down the road on overrun. If everybody on here is being honest we have all had a dodgy moment towing heavy trailers. I reckon a 3.5ton trailer behind a two ton truck is like the tail wagging the dog. I think you may be better off with a truck.

Spot on really, towing 3.5t behind 2t always seems a bit the wrong way round. But then tractors tow way over their own weight.....

I would agree with aspenarb. Where I work, the transit twincab with a 2 ton trailer snakes around 50 sometimes, and the vehicle is limited to 60mph.. It will all end in tears one day. I think the answer is across the pond

Actually its different with tractors because a lot of the weight is on the tractor itself whereas 3.5t behind a pickup is pure dead weight.
