Thought prompted by another thread. My work boots and clothing are by far the most expensive items in my wardrobe.

My trainers on the other hand cost no more than £30 a pair.

So, how much do you spend on trainers?

i have been thinking about this since i read someones post the other day. i bought a pair of north face goretex trainers. 75 quid. i have had them 3 years and they are as good as new. i dont mind the cost of something as long as it does what it says. my trainers are waterproof and hard wearing. i used to buy aquafell climbing boots, they said they were waterproof and hard wearing. first day, the rollerball lace thing broke, within a month the toes were worn through, and within a few weeks of winter, wet feet.

No more than £30 quid for me on trainers, and i'll wear them till they drop off me feet, dont understand people who pay stupid prices for them and have about 10 pairs!!!!!

But i have a pair of meindl burma pros for shooting and the like, muckboots for the same(which are the best welllies i've ever had) and stihl boots for work, but i dont like them as they are too heavy and kill your feet after wearing them all day!!!!

My lass is always on at me to buy new clothes, but the same thing applies there too, i dont want brand names and stupid prices, i'd rather spend the money on something i'm gonna get some use out of, i dont think a Gap/Bench or whatever t-shirt is any warmer than a £5 jobby is it????

I love good footwear, i just can't wear cheap, i'm come out in a funny rash my comfort is paramount. I have 3 pairs of boots for work Meindls (with orthotic insole 75 quid) for general groundsaw work, and either Aku Crodas or Kayland vertigo highs for climbing all about 150 a pair.

Taking my work footwear upto about 500 english pounds.

And the rest of my outdoor workwear is just as pricey, and why should'nt it be its the clothing i spend the most amount of time in.

Trainers? Approach shoes, cross trainers, running shoes, tennis shoes, base ball boots, are they all the same sports based footwear?

Can they look the bis, yet be too cool for school? Your feet are the point of contact during the waking hours, the way you treat your feet can have long lasting and initialy subtle affects on the body. Don't underestimate the importance of good footwear, trainers or otherwise, quality generally means more expensive. It's all a question of priorities, knowledge and suss.

From motorcross boots to flippers I got the lot. Marcos you chav!!!
