It's that 4.2 I'm after; had one in an old E-reg landcruiser and it was sweet; not that pokey in atmo form; the turbo they put in the later VX - yumm yumm!

 

hello jon you could buy a thornycroft antar like this one and register it as plant and winch all the clearfell in one go rolls royce v8 supercharged diesel :thumbup::thumbup::lol::lol::lol:

Maybe, but that's totally beside the point, I'm really not sure the defender was designed for towing the lenght of the country. You buy a vehicle that is fit for purpose, if your towing motorways and want to feel like your in a armchair- don't buy a landy. Pulling trailers along rough ground, give me a landy any day over the other crap, or a tractor:thumbup:
