Good Insurance.

Since there has been a lot of threads about insurance lately mainly about the savings that can be made I was wondering if there have been some bad experiences with making a claim?

It may be good to save £500 a year but if your insurance company have a get out of jail card then that saving is worth feck all.

So then has anyone had a claim and would recomend the firm they had at the time or has anyone had some bad/dodgy companies who wouldnt pay out?

Not all insurance companies have the same polices, some will pay some will try not to.

Is the cheapest man/woman the best? :001_smile:

Very good point!!

I stuck with lycetts, AKA algarve, for years, as although they were expensive I knew they were a good Co.

I only changed to NFU because I know they are best Co I have ever dealt with, and saved a packet in the process.

i was with algarve for 8 years, they jumped my insurance from 900 a year to 9 grand overnight 5 years ago, i stuck with them for another 2 years because there werent any others about(or so i thought)i have never had a claim. the nfu, deal with farmers all day every day. i am not going to generalise or slag anyone off, but you need to get up early to get one over on them. they are generation after generation of hardworking, get your hands dirty businessmen, who dont take crap from anyone especially folk in suits. nfu all the way. :001_smile:

When i got a quote from nfu not very long ago i asked if i went to another office would i be given the same price, she said Yes the nfu is the underwriter, although they are independent so i think its a sort of franchise thing they do, so it may be that some offices dont want to do that insurane them selves, maybe they dont make any money out of it, or they are the ones not giving the right info to their head office. just a guess.:confused1:
