what sort of prices do people put on for turfing, as in by the sqm or each job dependent

It can be tough pricing for smaller stuff, I find it depends on area prep time.

 

As for laying, the big boys with all the kit are around £1 sqm

I normally work on a day rate on smaller projects. It's easier to work out, cost of turf plus labour for the whole job. Day rate includes rotivator.

Well, the prep is the same as for seeding just without the seed and we charge 2.5euros per m2 plus seed for preparing all lawns up to 500m2 with a stoneburier.

We charge 7 euros per wheelbarrow of stone and rubbish we lift out on top.

After that the price per m2 drops off.

I had to price an area the other day 12 x 4 m dig out shrubs cart away.... top up soil 3 ton ish... then turf.... day and a half for 2 blokes leisurley away... obvioursly cant cart shrubs away and carry 3 t of soil at once so two trips... another trip to get turf etc

depends on cost of turf and prep. turf £2 sq/m down here. Once prep done laying is easy if your turf is good gear. Split laying and supply cost from prep on every job and hope for the best usually works for me
