Come on....we are clearly talking about the finer growth here. Obviously a chainsaw is used for the main stems. Loppers or hedgetrimmer after the thick stems are dealt with

You can use a saw if the thickness of the finer growth can make a hedge cutter struggle, then finish it with the cutter.

(I'm guessing we're talking about leylandii)

Never. I hate seeing chainsaws used to cut hedges. It leaves a scruffy and very unprofessional looking finish

Used our 395xpg with a 36" bar to lower a mixed Hawthorne, Holly, Ivy riddled hedge earlier this year.

Approx 150' long, dropped from 10' to 6', job done on a day.

Like to see it done with loppers n trimmers :lol:
