i am no mechanic but is it not the hieght of your airfilter. thats why mogs and big 4x4 have snorkels:001_smile: but i would steam clean it first so you dont pollute the river with all the spilt diesel and hyd oil

just sink it in the drink and use the chip flywheel as a prop and sail her to the job!!

The deepest that I would go is by looking at how high the hydraulic pump drive is - wet belts may slip preventing drive. Also look at the height of the fuel and hydraulic oil filler, water in either could stop the operation. The air intake is high enough but those two tips could give you an idea. If you do ford the river, attach a tow rope to both ends before getting in the water, just incase you do need to recover it. When we supply machinery to the EA, they stipulate biodegrabeable hydraulic oil incase a hose goes.

Thanks guys, i'll see how it goes, the rivers quite low at the moment so fingers crossed, cos I dont fancy dragging everything across the river! That is what is descirbed as a ball ache...
